Townsite Brewing Launches New Peralta Pale Ale

Powell River, BC – April2016

The Townsite HULK Brew Transforms Into Peralta Pale AleThis years HULK release plays on Cédric’s strength: Belgian know how.

Peralta: noun 1.the oldest concrete ship afloat in the world; 2. wild pale ale bottle conditioned with Brettanomyces bruxellensis.

Every April Cédric concocts a Belgian style beer to honour one of the iconic concrete ships that form a breakwater around Powell River’s mill.

The fifth installment in this series, sees an expansion of the sour beer program into Brettanomyces territory. Which, in case you are not aware, is funky territory.

“I took inspiration for this beer from one of the Belgian greats; Orval” says Cédric ” It’s a pale ale, fermented with a Belgian yeast strain, dry hopped and then bottle conditioned with Brett”

This beer can be enjoyed fresh as a hoppy pale ale, or cellared for a more mellow, funky and somewhat acidic flavour.
