Dead Frog Brewery’s Going to the Caribbean

Investors invited to own a piece of the craft beer that grew its roots in BC

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a part of a microbrewery, now’s your chance. Dead Frog Caribbean is looking for investor support to open up a brewery that will make their much beloved BC-born craft beer available in the Caribbean.

“We’re excited to launch this new company, Dead Frog Caribbean, and wanted everyday people to be able to buy into the dream,” says Dead Frog Caribbean president and co-founder Derrick Smith. “We’re the first brewery in BC to launch a campaign like this that gives investors the opportunity to purchase up to $1,500 in securities.

“It’s a trailblazing movement where everyday people can support small businesses they believe in.”

To turn their dream into a reality, Smith and Dead Frog Caribbean partner Neville Sinclair have launched an equity crowdfunding campaign through Small Starter (www.smallstarter.ca). On the site, any adult residing in BC – along with those living in SK, MB, NB and NS – can purchase shares in Dead Frog Caribbean and not only become an owner, but also get some additional perks, such as discounts, insider news, shareholder events and VIP tours and tastings.

“This gives people a way to be part of the Dead Frog beer story,” says Sinclair. “We’re inviting our fans and supporters to own a piece of this exciting new company and help make Dead Frog Caribbean a reality.”

The story of Dead Frog beer began in 2007 with the launch of their BC-based brewery in Aldergrove.  Dead Frog Brewery went through a major revamp in 2013 under the direction of Smith, establishing its innovative line of session beers and seasonals, including their Winter Beeracle and gold medal award-winning Nutty Uncle Peanut Butter Stout.

Dead Frog has a history of seeking out opportunities to grow their business, and you can now find their beer in most of Canada and western Washington, along with Hong Kong, Taiwan and Brazil.

“We’re really proud of our beer and want to continue to expand into new global markets,” says Smith. “We believe everyone deserves to taste a cold Dead Frog.”

I was not sure if this was real as it did not come from a dead Frog email address.

Nope it’s the real deal. One of the owners of the Aldergrove brewery is starting it up.
