Persephone Brewing Goldings Fresh Hop Golden Ale Review Persephone Brewing Co. – Harvest Goddess Fresh Hop Golden Ale Review

Persephone went farm crazy in 2015 brewing 3 different fresh hop beers. The Harvest Goddess is a fresh hopped Golden Ale that uses Goldings Hops that were picked at the Persephone Brewery farm in Gibsons BC. Pouring the beer from the bomber bottle it appears as a crisp and clear, golden colour and is topped with two fingers of lightly lacing head. A honey-sweet aroma comes from the beer with a distinct maltiness and citrus aroma. On the nose hops do not play a major part of the beer. The Golden Goddess is mid-bodied and shows the same honey-like sweetness that was found in the nose. This mild sweetness is joined by a malty body and leads into a moderate hop tone. The hop notes are not overbearing and the fresh flavour of grass and resin comes through stronger than the bitter tones that you may expect. This beer is a great example of the flavours that come from fresh hops without being over the top like many IPAs. IF you want a sessionable and easy drinking beer that shows the delicious flavour of fresh hops then this is the beer for you.
