2015 Craft Beer Advent Calendar Rumors

What’s Coming to BC – The 2015 BC Craft Beer Advent Calendar Rumors*

The best part about the holidays for many people is spending time with family, time off work and gorging with festive treats. For others the best thing about the holidays is a craft beer advent calendar. I would categorize myself into the latter of these categories.

How can craft beer fanatics in BC keep track of all 24 days of December leading up to Christmas in 2015? Well there are a few options just around the corner. Nothing has been confirmed at this point in time but here is what the rumor-mill is telling us.

2015 Craft Beer Advent CalendarRumor #1 – No CRAFT BeerAdvent Calendar in BC for 2015

The first rumor is true. The original craft beer advent calendar is not available in BC for 2015. Despite the fact that this year it includes beer from British Columbia’s Bridge, Townsite and Lighthouse Breweries, the Craft BeerAdvent Calendar is not being sold in BC. Here is the note that was shared regarding the matter:

“The 2015 Craft BeerAdvent® Calendar features some cans and some bottles that are on the re-fill program and due to regulations which prohibit the mixing of such containers within the same package in BC, we will not be able to offer the Craft BeerAdvent® Calendar in British Columbia in 2015.

With knowledge of the rules and regulations, we look forward to offering the craft beer lovers in British Columbia an amazing Craft BeerAdvent® Calendar in 2016.”

2014 Phillips Snowcase Beer Advent CalendarRumor #2 – Phillips Is Back!

It comes with no surprise that the Phillips Snowcase is expected to return for 2015 with 24 different beers brewed by Victoria’s Phillips Brewing Company. Expect this box to be priced around the $60-$65 mark and be available in BC, Alberta and Manitoba. Beers will likely include staples and seasonal offerings that have been released in standard packaging over the past year. There may even be a few new surprises in there? The official release will likely come shortly.

Mystery Gift Beer Advent CalendarRumor #3 – Central City and Parallel 49 Up Their Game

In 2014 Central City Brewers teamed up with the Parallel 49 Brewing Company to tag team an advent calendar with 24 different beers. The first go of it showed some staple beers along with two special-edition advent beers. The Mystery Gift Holiday Countdown will likely be available in BC and Alberta. This year, watch for even more surprises in the beer-mix with a rumored lower price tag to boot. Full details coming soon!

Spinnaker's Gastro BrewpubRumor #4 – Spinnaker’s Unveils the 12 Days of Christmas

Brand new for 2015, the Spinnaker’s Brewpub out of Victoria is entering the advent calendar game. Rather than 24 single sized bottles though they are taking the 12 days of Christmas approach with 12 bombers to get you through the final stretch before the holidays. This package will likely be priced around $80 and will feature 2 unique brews released just for the set along with 10 seasonal and staple options. Full details to come soon!

Watch for the official releases on craft beer advent calendars coming to BC in 2015 around November 1st!

* These rumors have not yet been confirmed by the breweries. They may simply be speculation and can not be confirmed at this date.

Darn. I was excited about the Spinnakers one for a minute but only 2 unique brews means I am out.
