The words “Driftwood” and “IPA” go hand in hand with “Fat Tug”. The Driftwood Brewery has a new, hop fueled beverage though and it is called the Raised By Wolves IPA. The beautifully labelled bomber bottle unleashes a beer that is a relatively light golden-straw colour with two full fingers of slow to settle, lacing head. From the nose of the Raised By Wolves IPA comes big tones of citrus, passion fruit and mango. While the Fat Tug is a big and piney IPA, this has a lighter, big fruit nose to it. Brewed with “wild yeast” the body is rather big with a sharp carbonation and a farmhouse kick to it. The flavour starts off with a kick of booziness that leads into the mango, citrus and melon flavoured hop explosion. More flavour than bitterness comes from this hop-forward IPA in a big and flavourful fruit-bowl explosion. You may wonder why Driftwood would make another IPA but when you try this beer you will understand that it is completely different.

This is so much more enjoyable than Fat Tug. A standout, emblematic beer for Driftwood.
