Phillips Brewing Apteryx IPA Review Phillips Brewing Co. – Apteryx India Pale Ale Review

Using hops from New Zealand this in a regional appropriately named IPA called the Apteryx. From the bomber bottle this dry hopped IPA pours as a lightly clouded, golden-orange colour topped with more than three fingers of lacing head. From the very thick crest of head comes an aroma with massive tropical fruit tones of mango, passion fruit, and pineapple. The nose on this beer is extremely fruity and salivation inducing. The body is fairly big with a moderate level of carbonation. The fruit tones add a light sweetness to the beer along with the mango and passion fruit tones coming through in force. A reasonably strong bitterness also comes through while it wasn’t apparent on the nose along side a solid malt base for the flavour. This is a well hopped, strong, and extremely fruity IPA brewed with New Zealand Nelson Sauvin Hops.
