Category 12 Brewing is joining the likes of summer beer fans with a Session IPA called the Insubordinate. From the bomber bottle this light, 4.5% IPA pours as a light golden-amber colour with two thick fingers worth of lacing head. The head is surprising given the low alcohol rating. A hoppy and citrus aroma comes from the beer in a true BC-style fashion. Both big hops and sessionability are forecast on the nose. The beer has a decent body that is neither big nor thin. A defined malt characteristic hits the palate up front while a citrus hop infusion builds behind. The finish is rather dry with a bitter pine-note that lingers with just a hint of citrus.

Alcohol – 4.5%
IBU – 58
