Dageraad Brewing Co. – De Witte Sour Fermented Passionfruit Wheat Ale Review
Dageraad Brewing is on a Belgian storm with new and creative beers being released in succession. The latest is the De Witte, A sour-fermented passionfruit Wheat Ale which is dry hopped using the ever-popular Citra Hops. From the bomber bottle the De Witte pours as a cloudy-straw colour topped with one finger of head. A wheaty, slightly fruity, sour aroma comes through on the nose with a citrus-orange base. The flavour comes in a well carbonated, light bodied package. A wheat tone and a fresh, not overly sour flavour brings passion fruit to the forefront without becoming overpowering. A crisp and fresh, slightly sour flavour makes the De Witte unique, sessionable and a deliciously mild sour ale. The perfect beer for a hot summer’s day, the De Witte is your friend for the toasty BC Summer ahead
