From Russell Brewing Company comes the Punch Bowl India Pale Ale. Don’t let the label fool you, this is not a fruit-containing beer but rather a hop-concoction of tropical fruit flavour. From the tropical looking bottle this IPA pours as an amber colour topped with two fingers of lacing head. From the Punch Bolw IPA comes an aroma of pineapple, peach, apricot, grapefruit and big citrus. A cornucopia of fruit tones comes from this hugely fragrant beer. In the flavour this beer is mid bodied with again a wallop of fruit tones. Pineapple, citrus, grapefruit and tangerine make up the majority of the flavour with a hop bitterness along side. Along with the hop comes a mild sweetness that helps to balance out the flavours. This is a very fruity IPA and will be a staple for many hop-heads in the warmth of summer ahead.
