Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. – Cold Smoke Smoked Porter Review

Mt Begbie Cold Smoke Porter ReviewFrom Revelstoke BC the Mt Begbie Brewing Company has smoked a Porter and named it the “Cold Smoke” This dark and rather trendy styled beer comes in at 6.5% and comes in a 650ml bottle. Pouring this beer it appears in the glass as a dark copper colour resembling more of a brown ale than a porter. A thick finger’s worth of head tops the glass and settles rather quickly leaving slight lacing on the glass’s sides. A malty, caramel nose comes through with a smokiness that is apparent but by no means over the top. The body is fiarly light and in the flavour smoke comes through loud and clear. The smokiness is not overbearing though with toasted malt, light coffee and caramel coming along side the smooth wood-smoke flavour. The Cold Smoke Smoked Porter is light in colour and body for the style but comes across as a delicious and quite delicious beer. This is one of Mt Begbie Brewing Company’20s best beers to date!
