From the eastern reaches of British Columbia the Fernie Brewing Company has brewed up another local, berry inspired beer called What the Huck. This Huckleberry Wheat Ale comes from the bomber bottle into the glass and appears a cloudy, watermelon colour topped with two finger’s worth of ratther light and fluffy head. The What The Huck Wheat Ale smells lightly sweet with a kick of huckleberry-sourness to it. A sweet and sour berry-infusion atop a sessionable wheat ale makes this a unique and delicious summer-time beer. The berry and wheat tones take a charge while not being all that intense. This leaves little else to come through on the nose. In the flavour the beer starts off with a light wheat flavour before building into a huckleberry, sweet and sour center. The berry con tent starts with a touch of sour and builds into a sweet latter portion. The finish is smooth, lightly creamy and leaves the palate with a sweet and sour berry flavour right to the end. The What The Huck is sweet but not over the top with a nice and mellow wheat beer as its base. This Fernie BC brewed beer is flavourful, unique and has a sweet and sour, delicious demeanor to it.

Just had the beer for the first time. Found it to be very refreshing after a day on the slopes. Would be a good patio beer for the summer also
