Persephone Brewing Co. – Keller Pilsner Review

Not every beer has taken a ferry to get to you but unless you are on the Sunshine Coast you can be sure that the Keller Pilsner has been on a boat at some point in its life. From Persephone Brewing out of Gibsons BC comes the Keller Pilsner. This Czech style beer pours into the glass as a golden-straw coloured beer topped witha finger of head. From this fairly thin and loosely packed head comes a pilsner/lager aroma of malt, mild hop and a light-sessionable overall feel. The flavour starts off crisp and light in a very refreshing manner. This builds with malted tones and a bit of a hop bitterness to it. The bitterness is a bit bigger than you may expect adding a bit of a twist to a traditional pilsner. This beer is light and refreshing with a bit of a bigger flavour profile on the hop side of things which the BC craft beer drinker is bound to enjoy. Either the you or the beer is going to have to catch the ferry but either way you are in for a treat!
