Spinnakers Brewpub – Round House Irish Red Ale Review

Spinnakers Brewery Roundhouse Red Ale ReviewSpinnakers Brewpub out of Victoria BC has released the Round House Irish Red Ale as a Spring seasonal through BC craft beer retailers. This beer is an amber colour that is not necessary cloudy but does have noticeable sediment floating in suspension. Topped with two fingers of head which settles moderately quickly, the glass is left clean without any signs of lacing. On the nose the round house is a malt-forward ale with toasted notes and a light sweetness. Hops play a minor role here but toasted malts are the front stage. The flavour is light on the tongue with solid malt tones and a light smoke along side the toasted and mild caramel tones. The smoke plays a bigger role than expected but makes a nice balance with the malt tones and subtle hops. The Round house isn’t a typical Red Ale but it is another delicious brew to come from the Spinnaker’s Brewpub.
