Barley Station Brewpub – Bushwacker Brown Ale Review

It is hard to be surprised when you find new beer in BC as it seems there are new ales and lagers showing up at your favorite craft beer retailer every week. It was a pleasant surprise though to find the Bushwacker Brown Ale from Shuswap Lake on the shelves. Available in a 6-pack using a generic can plastered with a custom label this beer has finally made it to the lower mainland. Pouring with a finger and a half of head this deep brown ale smells of toasted malt, chocolate and a touch of nuttiness. The flavour is strong with chocolate, and a smooth toasted malt sweetness. Nothing here is overbearing or demanding front stage making for a mellow yet flavourful brew. This is a dark beer that is surprisingly smooth and light. If you manage to find this beer on the local beer shelves give a 6-pack a try.

Alcohol – 4.7%
Size – 355ml
