Lighthouse Brewing Co. – Dark Chocolate Porter Review

The Lighthouse Dark Chocolate Porter has been around for quite a few years now. This near black in colour beer smells strong of chocolate with a light cacao bitterness. The beer pours with a single finger of head which settles cleanly and quickly. The flavour is an intense hit of chocolate; sweeter than expected the taste starts off in a semi-sweet mode leaving the palate screaming chocolate. The cacao bitter notes smelled earlier do not kick in until the finish where they leave the palate in a bitter-sweet, chocolate finish. If you like chocolate, this beer very well could be for you. If you want something with a lot of depth and contrast you may be disappointed with the Lighthouse Dark Chocolate Porter.
