Russell Brewing Co. – A Wee Angry Scotch Ale Review

The Wee Angry Scotch ale comes from Surrey’s Russell Brewing Company and pours from the bottle a dark chestnut brown colour with two, relatively quickly dispersing head. The smell is of toasted malt and a touch of caramel and smokiness. The taste is similar to the aroma in that it is a mild flavour that has a touch of sweetness and a lightly bitter finish. The toasted notes come through as does the caramel-smoke tones. The name of this beer may be intimidating but the drink itself is relatively mild and easy-going. Compared to other Wee Angry Scotch Ales Russell’s interpretation of the style is light, mild and easy drinking. As a mild but dark ale this is a great easy-drinking choice for a cool winter’s night.
