Parallel 49 Brewing Co. – Ugly Sweater Milk Stout Review

The Ugly Sweater Milk Stout pours a thick black colour with a thin finger of head. The aroma is of chocolate and nut with a mellowness that seems almost uncharacteristic. The taste is bold with chocolate, nut and has a milky creaminess to the body. The finish leaves the mouth with a warm chocolate flavour and a very mild hop bitterness. The chocolate is not sweet like you may expect and the milky description sounds odder than it actually tastes. The beer is smooth, dark and enjoyable being a bold stout without going off the deep end.

I really liked this beer. I was expecting something that was so sweet that it was offensive but it was very smooth and creamy without taking away from being a stout. The hops do come through, although not very strong.

    Highly recommend!
