Howe Sound Brewing Devil's Elbow IPA ReviewHowe Sound Brewing Co. – Devil’s Elbow India Pale Ale Review

The Howe Sound Brewing Devil’s Elbow India Pale Ale is a classic BC beer. The recipe is not the same as it was when first released but the inspiration remains the same. Brewed as a classic English style IPA at 6.0% and 68 IBUs the Devil’s elbow is designed to be a sessionable IPA but also have a hop bite to it. It is no wonder that this beer remains one of Howe Sound Brewing’s top selling beers. delicious. The beer comes in 1000ml, resealable bottles and from this it pours as a cloudy, amber-copper colour topped with one finger of lacing head. From the Devil’s Elbow comes an aroma of citrus, English malts and a reasonably strong bitterness. Tasting the beer it has a fairly large body with a smoothness to it. Off the bat the malt tones, light caramel and citrus come front of mind. As the first notes settle, a deep bitterness grows at the back of the tongue erasing the other flavours. The finish has a dry bitterness with a slight sweet-citrus not that lingers behind. The Devil’s Elbow is a classic BC beer that has evolved to meet the test of time but remain a close relative to an IPA originating from England.
