The Cannery Brewing Squire Scotch ale is an amber coloured, classic brew from Penticton BC. This beer pours with a single finger of head which smells of smoke, oak, caramel and a bit of toffee.  The flavour is smooth with a creamy start which builds into a smokey, likely oaked body. Toasted malts play a big fole here with a caramel sweetness hiding behind the smoke. As the flavour progresses the smoke builds up in the background for a sweet and smokey finish. This is a rather complex beer which is bigger than you may expect from the cannery Brewing Company. One thing is for sure though in that this beer is delicious and it will make you think about each and every sip along the way.
