Steel & Oak Brewing Alpen Winter Warmer Review Steel & Oak Brewing Co. – Alpen Winter Warmer Review

Steel & Oak Brewing is getting into the festive season with a Winter Warmer that they are calling Alpen. This beer is 6.5% alcohol, 30 IBUs and is a beer that is designed to drink by the fireside while visions of sugarplums dance in your head. Pouring the beer from the 650ml bottle it is a chestnut colour with a thick finger’s worth of lightly lacing head. Smelling this beer it is a big, malty beer with notes of caramel and toasted malt. Sipping, the malt character shines with mellow caramel, toasted and slight toffee flavours that are quite pleasant. This isn’t your winter-spice beer that is often referred to as a winter warmer but rather a malty, classic true craft beer.
