Brewing – The Fraser Pale Ale Review
In the Fraser Corridor BC Ale Trail club, Four Winds and Steel & Oak teamed up to brew a collaboration brew. The Fraser is a Pale Ale that was brewed with some new-world hops and Amchoor, a green mango spice for a unique brew. This beer pours from the bottle a colour of clear, golden-straw with two-plus fingers of lightly lacing head. The aroma is mellow with a mango-citrus character and mellow bitterness. By the nose this seems almost more of a hopped golden ale than a Pale Ale. Tasting the beer there is a crisp lightness to the body and flavour that is quite refreshing and vibrant in a mellow manner. The vibrance comes from the crisp hop flavours of mango, orange and passion fruit. The vibrance also comes through because the malt character is quite mellow and doesn’t mask the crisp, refreshing nature of the beer.
