SURREY, BC – Central City Brewers + Distillers wins Silver in the strategy magazine awards for ‘Best Canada 150 Strategy’ for the ‘Across the Nation Collaboration’.

2017 Strategy Awards - Red Racer Across The NationCentral City Brewers + Distillers was selected as a finalist in this year’s competition in the ‘Canada 150 Strategy’ category for the ‘Red Racer Across the Nation Collaboration’.  The project brought together craft breweries from 12 provinces and territories to collaborate on a mixed 12-pack of beers, in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.

“We couldn’t be more proud about this project,” says Dustan Sept, Director of Marketing at Central City Brewers + Distillers. “In creating  the Across the Nation Collaboration, our team created a mixed beer pack that exemplifies the amazing, collaborative nature of the craft beer industry, and celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday. We couldn’t have done it without an amazing internal team, 12 best-in-class brewing partners and the support of our liquor board and retail partners across Canada.”

The Strategy awards celebrate the top campaigns of the year which help to shape Canadian businesses and drive growth. The sought after awards are hotly contested between marketing agencies across the county. Central City Brewers + Distillers was the only non-agency up for an award in this category.

The goal of the Across the Nation Collaboration was always to raise the profile of craft beer throughout Canada. At the completion of the project, Central City can safely say that by working locally with these well-loved breweries, they collectively helped bring awareness of craft beer from across Canada, to a wider audience.

The judges for the ‘Canada 150 Strategy Award’ looked at how insights and ideas made a tangible contribution to Central City’s bottom line, industry positioning and other objectives. By winning a silver medal the Across The Nation Collaboration was deemed to have ‘opened the door to a unique, ownable new direction/positioning for the brand.’
