Phillips Brewing 6IX IPA Review Phillips Brewing Co. – 6IX Double Dry Hopped IPA Review

In 473ml single cans, the Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. has released the 6IX  IPA. Whether or not this is a somewhat subtle 69 reference the 6 references the six pounds of hops used in each barrel’s worth of beer. Pouring this beer from the can it is light amber coloured with two fingers of lacing head. The beer has a small amount of sediment suspended in the liquid while the aroma is hoppy giving notes of pine, grapefruit and mellow tropical fruit character. Tasting the beer, hops are a massive force, the bitterness hits hard early on with an intense citrus and pine character. The bitterness doesn’t relent masking any malt character that may be contained in the can. The bitterness lingers into the finish and holds on. This is a hop head’s beer as it is intensely bitter and has a very strong hop aroma. IPA fans rejoice in the 6IX IPA.
