Summer weather calls for summer flavour and with that in mind comes the Twa Dogs Silver Flood Belgian Witbier. This beer comes from Victoria Caledonian Brewery and is sold in 650ml bottles. The beer is straw coloured and has a half finger’s worth of head that settles without a trace. The aroma is light and fresh with notes of wheat, orange peel and coriander. The spice is mellow but adds a nice character to the nose. Tasting the beer it is light on the tongue and has a bit more sweetness than is typical for the style. This sweetness gives a bit more mouthfeel as well to the beer and is heightened further by low carbonation. The citrus-orange flavour and spice character is subdued but adds a refreshing note to the beer. There is no denying that is is a very refreshing beer and with a bit more sweetness than typical it will likely make some thirsty craft beer fans very happy.
