Fernie Re-Opens Iconic Brewery Tasting Room

Fernie Brewing Co. Tasting Room Now Open!

(Fernie, BC) – After a three-month hiatus and news of many a parched growler, Fernie Brewing Co. (FBC) is excited to share that the newly renovated Fernie Brewing Company Tasting Room and Storefront is now officially open. And the good news? It tastes as sweet as it looks.

DSC_0743With the FBC Tasting Room proving increasingly popular over the past couple of years, it became clear that a revamped and larger space was required. There was also the need for more warehouse space and a new tank farm, as well as additional office space upstairs. As such, spring 2017 seemed like the best time to tackle it all.

Despite the seemingly extravagant changes from the outside, the changes inside are refreshing, yet at the same time still 100% true to FBC’s roots – offering simply Cheers to Charity Flights, 12oz sleeves and Growler fills, accompanied by limited bar snacks.

Located just off Hwy 3 to the east of Fernie, means Fernie Brewing Co. is often the first point of call for traffic arriving into town. What better way to set the tone, and serve as a delicious information service to many a visitor planning their Fernie adventure?

With the new extended bar and tower, it now offers up to 12 fresh from the source beers on tap – rotating through core beers, seasonals and limited-release brews, as soon as they’re available. With the 48oz per person, per day limit remaining, the newly renovated space does offer additional seating and standing room, plus improved flow and signage. With the popular patio to follow in coming weeks.

There’s truly no better way to enjoy a cold craft beer, than whilst wearing a piece of well-matched merch and as such, there is no shortage of choice for every member of the family. Including the dog.

Despite the beautiful new space, several favourite features of the Tasting Room remain the same, including FBC’s Cheers to Charity Program. At just $5 for a Flight of 4 samples, all profits go to a local charity, organization or club rotating every 6-8 weeks, making it the perfect way to make a visit to FBC’s Tasting Room count.

Of course, for those looking to work for their pint, Fernie-style, the Trail to Ale Challenge is back for another year. Conquer 3 challenging well-known Fernie peaks under 24hrs and get rewarded with a refreshing pint and medal at the FBC Tasting Room. This challenge had mountain bikers, runners and hikers paying for their pints in blood, sweat and tears last summer and its return has been long-awaited by many. Head to FBC’s website for more information and rules.

So, there it is. With summer now in full flow, the much-awaited FBC Tasting Room and Storefront is officially ready to welcome locals and weekenders alike. FBC is grateful for the patience shown throughout such an extensive reno, and they look forward to a great summer and beyond in their revamped space!

Summer opening hours are, Monday – Thursday 10AM – 7 PM, Friday and Saturday 10AM – 8PM and Sunday 12PM – 6PM. Be sure to stay tuned on social media for all things Fernie Brewing Co.
