Torchlight Brewing Broadside IPA Review Torchlight Brewing Co. – Broadside India Pale Ale Review

Torchlight Brewing, from Nelson BC has bottled an IPA called the Broadside. Since Nelson is clearly known for their turn of the century wooden ships the label is adorned with just that. Some may want to call this beer Diversity but others may not get that reference. Regardless of name and label the beer pours a deep amber colour with a finger and a half of dense and lacing head. The aroma is sweet with a caramel tone, light toffee and an earthy-pine hop bite. Tasting the beer it has a malt forward flavour that is joined by a toasted-caramel tone and citrus-pine hop flabour. The bitterness is fairly mellow and is contrasted with the caramel and relative sweetness of the beer.

Alcohol – 7.0%
