Vancouver Island has released a lager called the 48, named after the 48.4351 degrees in which Victoria lies. This German styled lager comes in 355ml cans and is a golden colour in the glass. With two fingers of quick-to-settle head this beer has an aroma of malted character, light sweetness and a touch of citrus character. Tasting the beer it is a pretty classic German-styled lager with perhaps a bit more sweetness than is typical. Light noble hop character also comes through behind the malt-forward flavour. There may not be anything that stands out with this beer but that is true to style, it is an easy drinking lager with a mellow sweetness to it.

Alcohol – 4.8%
Size – 6 x 355ml (also in mix pack)
