Fuggles & Warlock Kokoro Pear Sour Ale Review Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks – Kokoro Pear Sour Review

From Richmond BC comes the Kokoro, a Pear Sour Ale brewed by the Fuggles & Warlock team. Using real pear juice this beer is a wheat sour with a refreshing backbone. The beer is cloudy and light, straw in colour with a finger’s worth of head. The aroma is lightly tart with notes of pear and lemon with a wheat base. The flavour has a lemon juice tartness to it and a mild pear sweetness. Pear doesn’t take main stage but pear as a fruit is quite subtle in nature. There is a slight astringency in the flavour as well which is difficult to peg down but comes across as a bit of a soapy flavour.

Unfortunate timing considering it’s not available. Or at least isn’t available at the two best stores in Vancouver, and I couldn’t get an answer from the brewery.
