Main Street has gained a reputation early on for their Stag & Pheasant. This Imperial Stout is back in 2016 and this year it is 10% and 65 IBUs. Pouring the beer from the bomber bottle it is nearly black in colour and has three fingers of dark brown, lacing head.  The aroma is intense with strong notes of molasses, bourbon, oak and light chocolate. The aroma forecasts a somewhat boozy and intensely flavoured beer. Tasting the beer it has a big hit of bourbon and oak up front which leads into chocolate and coffee tones that emerge later on. The finish is a warming coffee character and a lingering bourbon sweetness. The Stag and Pheasant could use a bit of time in the cellar to cool down but is a great representation of what bourbon barrel aged beer can taste like.
