Strange Fellows Brewing Boris Arabica Imperial Stout BottleStrange Fellows Brewing – Boris Arabica Review

The fourth release of the inaugural Strange Fellows Fellowship is another version of the Boris Imperial Stout, named Boris Arabica.  This version of the stout was aged in red wine barrels made of French and American oak, then blended with Arabica coffee.  The beer pours from the 750mL bottle an opaque black with three fingers of brown head that dissipates leaving some lacing behind.  Aromas of strong black coffee initially hit the nose, followed by roasted and burnt malt tones, some sugar and rich fruit, along with notes of vanilla and nuts.  The flavour of Boris Arabica is of vanilla and coffee, melding easily with dark chocolate and notes of hazelnut.  With a creamy mouthfeel, Boris Arabica presents a medium bodied Imperial Stout that finishes bitter and moderately dry.  This is a suitable end to the first year of Strange Fellows Fellowship Series.
