The Stanley Park Brewery has upped the anti with their seasonal brews in recent years and the Winter Glow is a Mandarin IPA that is only available in the winter. From the 330ml bottle this beer pours a very cloudy orange colour with a large amount of sediment suspended in the beer. On top of the sediment-rich beer is three full fingers of slow-to-settle, lacing head. The aroma is mellow with a fruity hop character and an orange peel-like bitter sweetness. For being an IPA the aroma is quite mild but the tones are on point. Tasting the Winter Glow the Mandarin Orange content comes much better known than in the aroma. A lightly sweet citrus flavour comes up first which builds into a tropical fruit hop character and mandarin orange sweetness. At the back of the palate a mellow hop bitterness builds towards the finish. The Winter Glow is a mild, fruit infused take on the every popular eastern styled IPA.
