Hearthstone Brewery Cool Hand Cuke Cucumber Sour CanHearthstone Brewery – Cool Hand Cuke Cucumber Sour Review

Hearthstone Brewery released their Cool Hand Cuke Cucumber Sour over the summer.  This review is for an older can which may slightly affect the flavour.  If the brewery releases the beer again next year we may update this review.  Cool Hand Cuke pours from the 355mL can a clear golden colour with three fingers of white head that leaves no lacing on the glass.  The aroma is of grainy malts with some fruity and grape tones, hints of apple and lemon, and a light tartness.  This sour is fruity with slight citrus notes.  The malt presence is light and there are subtle notes of cucumber.  This is a very light, fruity, and drinkable sour and could be a gateway sour for many people who have not tried sour beer before.

Alcohol – 4.0%
IBU – 00
Size – 355mL

        Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for reviewing our Cool Hand Cuke. Its unfortunate that you had the beer in November that was launched in the summer, but we appreciate the review and understand the challenge to get the beer as it sold quickly. As there are no hops to preserve this beer, the flavour and aroma are much reduced now as compared to when freshly canned. We would love to work with you in the future on beer reviews. I welcome you to reach out to me via info@hearthstonebrewery.ca so we can connect.
        Cheers!

Thanks for the comment and letting me know about the beer! We definitely prefer to review fresh beer, this was an uncommon one that I wanted to try and review. I’ll get in touch by email and we can connect for future beer reviews. Cheers!
