After two very successful years, Kiwanis AleFest, northern BC’s craft beer festival is back. Taking place in the heart of winter, the event is a celebration of BC craft beer, This year will be even bigger and better, with more tickets available for sale. Last year tickets sold out in only one week.
Kiwanis Prince George, the local community service organization that organizes the annual event, expects tickets to go even faster for the 2017 event. “Our community has really embraced the event and our fundraising efforts,” explains Amy Dhanjal, the Kiwanis AleFest Lead for Venue & Logistics. “People really enjoy the opportunity to sample in one place such a variety of small batch, hand crafted beers from across BC, including our own Northern BC breweries.”
Tickets for the 2017 event go on-sale Saturday October 15th at 8am only through the Kiwanis AleFest website at www.kiwanisalefest.ca. Just like the last two years, AleFest will take place at the beautiful Two Rivers Gallery in downtown Prince George. There is a Friday night session that will run from 7:30-10:30pm, and two sessions on Saturday, from 3:00-6:00pm and 7:30-10:30pm.
“Launching our ticket sales this month, coincides with October being declared BC Craft Beer month www.bccraftbeermonth.com. Thirty one days of special events, new beer releases, tastings, tap takeovers and the sold out BC Beer Awards and Festival,” explains Garrett Dobson, the Kiwanis AleFest Lead for Sponsorshop, Food & Music. “Our event in January continues that celebration and raises money for the Ronald McDonald House of BC and locally for Kiwanis kid projects in our community.
The 2017 edition of Kiwanis AleFest will include some great new breweries and restaurants.Tickets are $63 per person, with each ticket including 6 craft beer tasting tokens, free tapas, live music from Coldsnap, a great silent auction, and access to the art in the Rustad Galleria and Canfor Galleries.
Completely volunteer run, Kiwanis AleFest is looking for sponsors and volunteers to come on board to help us make this event a continued success.
