Bridge Brewing - Belgian Rubus Table Beer Review Bridge Brewing Co. – Belgian Rubus (Blackberry) Table Beer Review

Bridge Brewing has taken Belgian Tradition and blended it with West-Coast summer flavour in their Belgian Rubus, a Himalayan Blackberry infused Table Beer. Pouring this beer from the bomber bottle it is cloudy and amber coloured with a finger and a half of lacing head. The aroma is toasted, with hop tones of mango and citrus along side a very subtle berry-aroma. The Mosaic Hops take charge in the aroma and don’t let a lot of the Belgian or berry notes come through in true form. Tasting the beer it is light bodied and has a Belgian-yeast tone that is reasonably strong. This is built upon by the tropical fruit notes thanks to the Mosaic Hops. The Blackberry flavour comes late with a light, fruit richness in the final moments of flavour. This is a flavourful and unique twist on a Belgian Table Beer with the use of Mosaic Hops but the Blackberry tones are overshadowed. It is a very enjoyable, sessionable beer but don’t expect a lot of berry flavour going into this one.
