Off The Rail Brewing Nur Ein Kolsch Review Off The Rail Brewing Co. – Nur Ein Kolsch Review

Off The Rail has brewed a Kolsch called the Nur Ein Kolsch. This beer is sold in bomber bottles and from it pours a golden coloured ale with a thick finger’s worth of head which settles without  a trace. The aroma is lightly sweet with German malt character that forecasts a smooth and traditional brew. Mild Euro hops come into play but don’t add much in the way of bitterness to the nose. Tasting the beer it is light and crisp with a citrus, almost sour-like tinge. This is no sour beer but the crispness and high carbonation of the beer add a bit more than you may expect. The mild sweetness adds a smoothness to the flavour and the hops a touch of texture at the back of the tongue. This is a light, fresh and sessionable German Styled Kolsch.
