Twin Sails Brewing Sticke Altbier Review Twin Sails Brewing Co. – Sticke Altbier Review

Twin Sails Brewing has been paying homage to tradition with classic, old-world beer styles. In this vein comes the Sticke Altbier at 5.7% and 40 IBUs. This hop-forward version of the traditional Dusseldor Altbier comes in a bomber bottle and is caramel-brown in colour with two fingers of lacing head. The aroma is rich with caramel, light toffee and thick Munich malt. The flavour has a light caramel sweetness to it and a rich malt character. A light bitterness grows at the back of the palette as the flavour progresses along side the malty tones. This beer is classically brewed and has a strong Euro-influence but also a touch more hop that snuck in from its North American brewers.
