Longwood Brewery Planet Nine Black IPA Review Longwood Brewing Co. – Planet Nine Black IPA Review

The Longwood Brewery has ventured to the dark side with their Planet Nine Black IPA. While you may debate if it should be the Planetoid 9 instead you should probably just drink the beer. From the bomber bottle this beer pours a deep and dark brown colour and is topped with a thin finger of off-white head. From this Black IPA comes a nose made from notes of northwest hop tones, light chocolate and a roasted malt flavour. Tasting the beer a similar layer of flavours comes through. The toasted malt character is apparent up front while the hop bitterness and mild chocolate builds as the flavour progresses. The 68 IBUs seems somewhat subdued by the malt character and makes for a very drinkable, low bitterness Black IPA.
