Moody Ales & Ridge Brewing 1860 Export Stout ReviewMoody Ales & Ridge Brewing – 1880 Export Stout Collaboration Review

In the Moody Ales Small Batch Series of limited release beers comes a collaboration brew with Ridge Brewing Co. out of Maple Ridge. This beer is called the 1880 Export Stout and comes in at 6.6% alcohol and 28 IBUs. Pouring from the bomber bottle the 1880 has a colour of dark brown and is topped with one finger of dark and lightly lacing head . The aroma has strong notes of chocolate, caramel sweetness and coffee in a warming and roasted beer-package. Tasting the beer the body is light and smooth with an airy-creamy texture. Notes of chocolate come through with a nice and very smooth coffee note. In many beers the coffee or chocolate take charge but here they are quite balanced and very enjoyable. Light sweetness joins the milky texture in a mocha like package. The 1880 Export Stout is smooth, balanced and very delicious.

Alcohol – 6.6%
