Ridge Brewing Cafe Morena Brown Ale BottleRidge Brewing – Cafe Morena English Brown Ale Review

Ridge Brewing in Maple Ridge, BC recently brought out their Cafe Morena English Brown Ale.  The beer pours from the bomber bottle a clear mahogany with one finger of light brown head.  The head dissipates quickly leaving no lacing on the glass.  The aromas from the Cafe Morena are of rich roasted malts, caramel, coffee, and a subtle note of crusty bread that provides a very appealing scent.  In the mouth the beer gives a creamy mouthfeel with minimal effervescence on the tongue, with grain and caramel as the most prominent initial flavours.  These tastes recede to reveal distinct roasted tones as well as a distinct note of coffee.  This beer offers the flavours of a traditional English Brown Ale but with an extra hint of coffee that makes it more interesting and very drinkable.
