Central City Brewing Goes Old-School with Refreshed Red Racer PILS

Red Racer PilsnerCentral City Brewing’s new Red Racer PILS showcases a more sessionable drinking experience and new branding

Surrey, BC, Canada – Central City Brewers + Distillers is relaunching its classic Red Racer PILS with refreshed branding and new recipe.

The new Red Racer PILS features a lighter, more sessionable, balanced body that can be appreciated by beer drinkers of all types. It is brewed in the classic Bavarian tradition, using only the finest two-row barley and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. This light and golden Pilsner has a distinct hop aroma and flavour with a dry, crisp finish.

The new branding takes on a classic, vintage, nostalgic feel with a simple text-based logo design. The retro look is a throwback to old-school days of college football pep rallies.

“Although we are known for our hoppy beers, the Pilsner is a style of beer we have always loved at Central City,” says Gary Lohin, brewmaster at Central City Brewers + Distillers. “We brew it in the classic Bavarian style using hops from Germany and employing a long maturation process which gives the beer a crisp flavour and a smooth finish. Only premium ingredients are used in the recipe.”

Central City is hosting a Red Racer PILS launch event on Sunday, March 20th (2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at Lamplighter Public House in Vancouver, featuring a Super Smash Brothers video game tournament. The event is open to all, with no cover charge and includes prize giveaways and a chance to win a Norco bike.

The Red Racer PILS (5% ABV, 25 IBU) is available in 355ml cans in liquor stores throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario in late March.
