Phillips Brewing Sax In The Dark Sour Ale Review

Sax In The Dark, A New Sour Ale from Phillips Brewing

Phillips Sax in the Dark Phillips Brewing Sax In The Dark Dark Sour Ale w/ Grape Must – 5.0% – 650mL

Phillips SourMarch 14th, 2015 – Pucker up and play the sour note! The second beer in our Sour Note series is hitting the shelves. Born as a medium bodied dark ale, Sax in the Dark is infused with grape must and augmented with lively Lactobacillus bacteria, the magical secret to sour.
Pouring a deep mahogany brown colour topped by a soft off-white head, a tangy fruit nose leads to a lively, slightly sharp tartness through the body underpinned with flavours red wine, grapes, and light toast. Finishes puckeringly dry. This sour brew is proof that sometimes the best notes fall outside of traditional scales.

Sax in the Dark is only available from private craft-focused liquor stores for a limited time! If you find yourself in our neighborhood this Thursday March 17th, come on by between 4-6 for a special draft tasting.
