March 14th, 2015 – Pucker up and play the sour note! The second beer in our Sour Note series is hitting the shelves. Born as a medium bodied dark ale, Sax in the Dark is infused with grape must and augmented with lively Lactobacillus bacteria, the magical secret to sour.
Pouring a deep mahogany brown colour topped by a soft off-white head, a tangy fruit nose leads to a lively, slightly sharp tartness through the body underpinned with flavours red wine, grapes, and light toast. Finishes puckeringly dry. This sour brew is proof that sometimes the best notes fall outside of traditional scales.
