Red Collar Brewing Doppelbock ReviewRed Collar Brewing Co. – Doppelbock Review

Red Collar Brewing has released a beer that does not have a name beyond the style. The Doppelbock is a traditional dark German Lager that tips the scales of strength at 7.74%.  This beer pours a colour of nearly black with three-plus fingers of head that erupts as you pour from the bottle. Once in the glass an aroma of malty, roasted barley hits the nose with a light, nutty chocolate aroma that adds some depth to the beer. The body is quite big and very smooth. The roasted barley flavours give a light caramelization flavour along with a nutty, almost burnt flavour. The finish i s bitter and toasty with a warmth that lingers at the back of the tongue. Don’t drink this beer too cold as when the beer warms the flavours truly come alive. The Red Collar Doppelbock is rich and smooth, playing tribute to the traditional German style in a strong way.

Alcohol – 7.7%

Agreed. This beer is a beauty. Lots of flavour especially as it warms up.
