Overview

Deep Cove & Persephone Collaboration Winter Ale ReviewDeep Cove Brewers & Persephone Brewing – Winter Collaboration Ale Review

The brewing teams from Gibsons and North Vancouver have teamed up to brew a Win ter Collaboration Ale. This beer, a joining of breweries on either side of Howe Sound comes in at 7.5% and melds the labeling styles of the two breweries. Pouring the beer it has a colour of chestnut brown and is topped with two thick and dense fingers of lacing head. From the brew comes a malty and rich aroma of caramel, toasted malt and a subtle oakiness. Tasting this collaboration beer it has a big body and is rich with toasted malt tones. The source of the oak-aroma becomes apparent with a rich wine-oak flavour that gives great body and depth of flavour. Aged in Pinot Noir brandy-infused oak a cherry-oak flavour and light vanilla-like smoothness gives great flavour and texture to the beer. The label and name are quite unassuming but this beer packs a smooth and swift upper jab in its flavour and intensity.
