The Bridge Brewing Company is getting into the spirit of things with the Sleigh Booster Imperial Red Ale. Stepping out of the bounds of their typical label style this beer has an intricate and rather unique design featuring St Nick. The Sleigh Booster pours from the bottle as a deep, dark chestnut brown colour topped with three fingers of lacing head. A spicy-hop aroma comes from the beer with a bit of a boozy kick. Piney notes are matched with caramel and toasted malt tones in a balanced but intense brew. Tasting the beer it has a big, smooth and creamy texture that pairs with a deep and complex body. Caramel notes pair with the intense hop bitter tones that together mask the massive 9.0% alcohol level. This beer is oddly easy to drink and smooth on the tongue for being such a big beer. The Sleigh Booster is a perfect Northwest style beer for curling up next to the fire with on a cold and dark, BC winter’s evening.
