Driftwood Brewery De Auras Sour Ale Review Driftwood Brewing Co. – 2015 De Auras Wheat Sour Review

Drifwood Brewery is on a rampage of making craft beer that British Columbian’s deem their favourites. Next up on the list is the De Auras. A wheat Sour that is a limited release. From the bomber bottle this beer pours an amber colour with two fingers of head. The carbonation runs a steady stream from the base of the beer leaving a thin film of continuous head. A sharp-sour aroma comes from the beer with a deep wheat tone. Notes of lemon and citrus join the deep Lacto and Brett yeast tones. The flavour is not as sharp as the aroma with a fairly large body, strong carbonation and a lightly sweet tone joining the sour yeast notes. Despite a strong sour nose the the beer is quite balanced and gives a very drinkable yet noticeable sour tone.

Alcohol – 6.5%
