Overview

Main Street Brewing Session IPA Review Main Street Brewing Co. – Session IPA Review

Main Street Brewery has released a Session IPA in the spirit of the UK. The label features a rugby player and the city of London’s official flag. This light and easy-going IPA comes in at 4.8% and 55 IBU. From the bomber bottle the Main Street Session IPA pours as a light copper colour and is topped with a finger and a half of loosely packed, lacing head. The Session IPA has a hop-forward aroma with a strong English-style tone to it. An earthy bitterness along with a light citrus-fruit tone makes for an aroma that is bigger than the 4.8% ABV forecasts. Tasting the beer is has a light body and an easy-drinking mouthfeel. The citrus-fruit tones come out front with a subtly malt tone that adds some base to the body. The bitterness grows near the finish with a sharp bitter bite that is bigger than the strength of the rest of the beer. The hop is rather big and the body is rather large as well given the relatively low alcohol and sessionable nature of the brew.
