Big Rock Brewery – Citradellic Single Hop Citra IPA
Single Hop IPAs are all the rage and the Big Rock Urban Brewery has released their second BC brewed beer in the form of the Citradellic, A single hop IPA that uses the iconic Citra Hop. From the bomber bottle this elegantly (Hired Guns designed) labeled beer pours as a hazy, light amber colour with two fingers of lacing head. A piney-citrus hop nose comes into play in a fairly intense way while somehow the malted notes still come through to be will known. The aroma is a nice blend of piney hops, citrus notes and smooth malts. On the palate the Citradellic is crisp and fairly big bodied. The citrus notes come through with a delicious blend of lemon and grapefruit tones. A smooth, light alcohol flavoured malt tone balances the beer in an almost creamy way. The Citradellic is big with citrus flavours, hop bitterness and smooth malts in a somehow light and fairly sessionable package. If the Citradellic is a sign of what is to come from Vancouver’s Big Rock Urban Brewery then we are in for a treat. Keep them coming Big Rock!
