Stanley Park Brewery Partners with Lululemon on Curiosity Lager

Stanley Park Brewery Introduces the Curiosity Lager

lululemon athletica and Stanley Park Brewing Collaboration Brew

Stanley Park & Lululemon Curiosity LagerIn essence we brought together what each of us does best – lululemon brought the occasion, being the SeaWheeze Sunset Festival, and designed the branding with input from our team, and Stanley Park Brewmaster Todd Fowler chose the beer style, crafted the beer recipe and brewed the beer.

The Background

Stanley Park Brewing is the exclusive beer partner for lululemon athletica’s annual SeaWheeze Half Marathon and Sunset Festival in Stanley Park. After making a special Strawberry Wit Beer that was only available at the 2014 event, we approached the team at lululemon with an idea to take our collaboration further in 2015. The plan was to craft a new beer that would celebrate our SeaWheeze partnership and could live on store shelves. The result is Curiosity Lager – a true collaboration of our respective expertise, where both brands bring what they do best to the table to create something unique and different for consumers.
“Curiosity Lager is a community-based collaboration of two local companies to celebrate the SeaWheeze Sunset Festival that brings thousands of SeaWheezers together to enjoy the beauty of Stanley Park, our hometown forest-in-the-city,” Doug Devlin, Stanley Park Brewing.

The Beer

We got together and asked ourselves, “after a hot and sweaty run on the seawall, what beer would we be thirsty for?”
The answer was a crisp, refreshing and sessionable lager with just a hint of something different. “The base of our beer is Alberta farmed Pale Malt, and our hint of something different comes from the Lemondrop hop; an experimental aroma hop with a unique lemon-citrus character. The beer finishes at a sessionable 4.6% alcohol, and a light, approachable bitterness,” Brewmaster Todd Fowler.

Why Curiosity?

Inspired by the SeaWheeze theme of ‘free thinkers and curiosity drinkers’ it only seemed fitting that as a team, we provided these free thinkers some Curiosity to drink!
