Parallel 49 Brewing Co. – Apricotopus Apricot Sour Saison Review

In the name of ridiculous names and summer beers the Parallel 49 Brewing Company has brewed the Apricotopus, a Apricot infused Sour Saison. From the bomber bottle this beer ranks in at 6.3% alcohol and appears as a cloudy golden-straw colour with one fingers worth of head which settles quickly and without a trace. From this fruit-infused sour beer comes a Saison like aroma of wheat citrus and tropical fruit. The sour tones and Apricot tones are rather light and do not overpower the beer’s smell. The flavour is lightly sour and has a kick of apricot and wheat. Sour Saisons are not typically overly sour and the Apricotopus is no exception. The sour tones contrast a fruity sweetness giving balance and sessionability to a summer beer. Not bad Parallel 49, not bad at all.
